For nearly 25 years, Hoboken Dive Center has been a fixture in the Northern New Jersey area. We have, over that time, taught thousands of scuba divers, shared in hundreds of scuba trips, explored the Atlantic with you, and made many friends. We have watched Hoboken transform over time to the important New York City suburb that it is today. We have enjoyed every minute of it.
It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Hoboken Dive Center will cease its retail business effective immediately.
The scuba industry requires two parts to be successful in our current form 1) a growing student base and 2) correlated retail sales. We have always had a growing student base, but the way that the world buys products has changed irrespective of price competition. Over the last 3 years Hoboken Dive Center has transformed into an education focused business model and become a powerhouse in that endeavor, but it ultimately is not sustainable without the second part of the equation.
What our closure means for you:
If you are currently enrolled in our eLearning programs, we will do our best to get you scheduled in one of our remaining pool and open water classes (where appropriate). If our schedule cannot accommodate your schedule, then we will refer you out to Blue Water Divers (contact information below).
Enrolled Class Students-
If you are currently enrolled in one of our upcoming classes, nothing will change for you. We will still continue with our training schedule as published including our upcoming pool sessions and open water classes.
Customers with Service Gear:
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to make special arrangements. Please have your claim check available. Another important note, this only applies to customers who have dropped off their gear for service over the last year or so. Items that had been left at the shop for years are no longer available.
While the retail (the store) is closing, we will still be conducting education classes to assist with students that have education goals that we have planned with you. If you have prepaid for classes, Yunior and Stewart have already attempted to reach you in order to schedule your classes. If you believe that to not be the case, please immediately reach out to us at email@example.com.
If you do not have outstanding business with us but still want to explore the underwater world we strongly encourage you to follow that desire. We have asked Blue Water Divers, an excellent facility, to assist us with any services that we are not able to provide. They are also dealers for many of the same product lines that we carried and can service your equipment and continue your training. We will be working over the next month to automatically redirect inquiries to their facility, but in the short-term, please feel free to reach out to them for any of your diving needs:
